Thanks to Ducky for the great welcome gifts, my awesome roommates, LauraLynn and Louie and all the girls at the track for being great company. I have crossed off femmoto on my "To Do" list which has been on the list for FOUR YEARS!!! Next year is AMA's Women & Motorcycling Conference. So who will I see there from Cycle Angels????
CA: I'm sorry I can't remember everyone's name and please email me if I didn't add your name to the caption and I'll change it! Thanks

The Great Lakes MC Tour
|
|
Day 1: Cleveland, OH to Luddington, MI ( 429 miles). We left Cleveland under sunny skies and rode for three hours before getting stuck for three more at a Harley Davidson dealership in Cement City, MI. My bike (SV) had only gears 5 and 6 working - sometimes 4 would work. They squeezed us in and fixed the problem. In 91 degrees, we rode along Hwy 31 along Lake Michigan until 7:30 that night trying to make up some time.
Day 2: Luddington, MI to Sudbury, ONT (455 miles). Still trying to make up lost time we hoofed it across the border at the Soo and followed Hwy. 17 along the northern shore of Lake Huron, again in very hot weather. Eleven hours later through some spectacular scenery, we ended up in Sudbury, ONT where we stayed the night.
Day 3: Sudbury, ONT to Guelph, ONT (347 miles). Finally, a "short" day! Heading south out of Sudbury on Hwy. 69, we rode through fog through even more spectacular scenery along the Georgian Bay. We took a detour at the French River and rode eight miles down a dirt road, so that Bert could reminisce about his boy scout days at Tinnerman and the many canoe trips he led and participated in there. Continuing on under gradually sunny skies, we stopped for lunch at Parry Sound and wondered about the Sportbike Rally they hold there and whether to go up for it one of these years. From Parry Sound we followed Hwy. 69 to Hwy. 21 around the Georgian Bay shoreline to Owen Sound. About eight miles out of O.S. we were stuck in heavy road construction (3" - 4" of heavy, loose, wet gravel, dodging very large earth movers). The excitement continues! At O.S., we headed south on Rt. 6 into Guelph and met Beth, Suzanne and Jac (GGR girls) for dinner. Beth and Daphne (115 lb. Rottie - sweet girl) put us up for the night. Thanks Beth!
Day 4: Guelph, ONT to Cleveland, OH ( 288 miles). Can you say slab???? BORING. 'nuff said.
Enjoy the pics.

This was a statewide motogirlz ride with Vera and Mogo coming up from Cinci. We all met in the Columbus area.
Just wanted to say a special thank you to all the ladies that came out on Sunday. It was a very successful ride and it would not have happened without everyone coming together the way we did. As a group, we are definitely becoming more comfortable with each other and safety was always kept in mind.
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart, telebike aka "Mad Maxine" for hanging in there for her love of riding and to be with the girls despite her back, RaceDoll for initiating this ride and leading us down some great asphalt (sorry, we really had to pee and I was going to call you as soon as I got off the toilet!!!), Vera for leading us down some roads that seemed like you have been riding forever and Sandi, Mogo and Suzanna for coming out and hanging with us wherever the road took us!!! Don't forget, Amy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! She hung out at Bobby Ho's just to say hi to all of us even if us Northern folks were a tad late.
So, thanks again, ladies!!! Here is to you all!

Got some autographs finally of my hero, Miguel Dumhamel!!! Jake Zemke too!!
It was great meeting up with all our other friends!
